Allens nabs 2 former HWL Ebsworth partners
Global law firm Allens has appointed two lawyers as partner and senior counsel respectively, following their departures from HWL Ebsworth in November 2020.
Bryn Hardcastle (pictured) and Dave Filov have been hired by Allens as a partner and senior counsel respectively, joining the global firm’s corporate practice in Perth.
The appointments follow the news from earlier this week that Australasian insurance firm Wotton + Kearney had scooped up two other partners from HWL Ebsworth.
Speaking about the appointments, Allens Perth practice director and partner Gerard Woods said he was “delighted” to welcome lawyers whom he deemed “highly respected”.
“Offering both deep local knowledge and international breadth of experience, their expertise and track record will complement the breadth and depth of the broader Allens offering. Their appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to the Perth market, and our ongoing focus on supporting our clients, particularly in the energy and resources sector, from the earliest phases of their corporate development through initial capital raisings, IPO, acquisitions and divestments, project financing and into full maturity,” he said.
“Bryn and Dave each have an outstanding reputation in equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and corporate advisory in the energy and resources sectors, and beyond. Together with Dave, Bryn built and led the market-leading ECM practice in Western Australia, measured on both deal volume and value.
“We look forward to working with Bryn and Dave as we continue to extend our client offering in Perth.”
