HFW lands 5 construction professionals from Colin Biggers & Paisley
Global law firm HFW has hired a partner, senior associate, two associates and a legal assistant from national firm Colin Biggers & Paisley.

HFW has expanded its Australian operations by hiring partner Antony Riordan (pictured), senior associate Brooke Gilbey, associates Natasha Joukhdar and Rachel Irwin, and legal assistant Jacqueline Borgese for its Sydney offices, from Colin Biggers & Paisley.
Speaking about the firm’s expansion, HFW Australia managing partner Gavin Vallely said: “HFW is committed to growing our construction capabilities globally, and the firm has identified construction as a strategic priority for growth in Australia. We are very pleased to welcome Antony and his team to the firm.”
HFW global head of construction Carolyn Chudleigh added that the firm is “delighted” to welcome Mr Riordan and his team.
“Antony brings in-depth construction sector expertise as well as commercial litigation skills, allowing us to meet growing client demand in both these areas, across Australia and Asia,” she said.
“The members of the team joining HFW are very talented and focussed professionals and we look forward to working together as we continue our strategic growth in this industry sector.
Commenting on their move from Colin Biggers & Paisley, Mr Riordan said that HFW offers the “precise opportunity” that he was looking for: “an already impressive construction practice, locally and internationally, and in particular, access to a depth of international and local expertise and experience in the energy and resources space”.
“HFW’s leadership team is focused on growing the firm’s Australian business generally and particularly in the construction, engineering and infrastructure space,” he proclaimed.
“I look forward to working closely with the construction team nationally and internationally to assist my colleagues to further develop that practice group and to leverage opportunities for our clients and our lawyers.”
