HWL Ebsworth promotes 39, elevates 4 to partner
HWL Ebsworth Lawyers has named 39 promotions with four set to join the partnership.
Michael Boughey, Ashley Harding, David Arribas and Pauline Garland will become partners within its corporate and commercial and insurance teams, effective 1 September 2020.
Juan Martinez, HWL Ebsworth managing partner said that despite the extraordinary challenges presented by COVID-19, the firm was able to maintain their strong financial performance, “which pleasingly enables us to now recognise the high performance of our talented team members.”
“Each of the team members [is] very deserving of their recognition and I would like to thank them all for their outstanding contribution to the firm’s ongoing success,” Mr Martinez said.
“In such difficult circumstances our service levels have continued at a very high level and our clients have appreciated the commitment and professionalism displayed by our individual team members. I could not be more proud of the way in which our team members have committed themselves to helping each other and supporting our clients.”
The four additional partners add to the biggest legal partnership in Australia by number of partners.
This comes as the firm is also getting ready for a sharemarket float that could value it at more than $1 billion and make its equity partners millions.
It is understood the firm has tapped Macquarie Bank’s investment banking team and is believed to be eyeing a similar valuation to intellectual property firm owner IPH Ltd, which owns Spruson & Ferguson and was listed in November 2014.
