Criminologist appointed to domestic and family violence board
A leading criminologist will join prolific court and family violence legal experts on the board for the Queensland Domestic and Family Violence Death Review.

Associate professor Molly Dragiewicz will join legal experts on the Domestic and Family Violence Death Review and Advisory Board, charged with identifying and establishing the best practices for preventative measures to limit the risk of violence in the home.
Dr Dragiewicz said she was honoured to join the board, particularly as COVID-19 attracts additional attention to the risks of domestic and family violence.
“The board plays an important role in analysing data on domestic and family violence in Queensland and making systematic recommendations to government in order to prevent future deaths,” Dr Dragiewicz said.
During her three-year term, Dr Dragiewicz – who works at Griffith University’s Criminology Institute – will review the domestic and family violence death cases in Queensland. Her research expertise on domestic violence at separation and technology-facilitated coercive control will provide a foundation of expertise for the role and the board.
