Hamilton Locke welcomes new litigation partner

Hamilton Locke has appointed a new litigation and disputes resolution partner to its Sydney office.

Eric Braun is known for his expertise on major commercial disputes, including complex contractual, technology, telecommunications and transborder matters.

“We are delighted to welcome Eric to the firm to further increase our litigation offering,” Hamilton Locke’s managing partner, Nick Humphrey said.

“He brings a wealth of experience, and we are excited to offer his unique expertise to our clients”.

Mr Braun has over 15 years of experience as lead counsel in major commercial litigation and dispute resolution and implementing complex contracts along with specialist legal experience that includes technology, complex contracts, regulatory, IP, competition misleading conduct, cross-border litigation telecommunications and judicial review.

He is admitted to practice in Australia and the state of New York, and has conducted and advised on proceedings in Australia, the US and the Pacific region. Mr Braun is also known for his skills in early case evaluation and resolution.

Mr Braun will join Hamilton Locke’s Sydney office from his litigation and dispute resolution practice, EMB Legal. 

He previously held the position of chief litigation counsel, at Telstra, where he was responsible for the conduct of over $2.5 billion in major case litigation. 

Prior to his position with Telstra, Mr Braun was a lawyer at the premier US litigation firm, Williams & Connolly, based in Washington, DC which has represented several prominent US politicians including Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Mr Braun’s appointment brings Hamilton Locke’s total partner count to 16.
