New appointment to Victoria Magistrates Court
The Andrews Labor government has appointed a new magistrate to the Magistrates Court of Victoria.

A former barrister at Howells’ List Barristers, Kristen Rose was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in April 2003 and signed the Bar Roll in November 2007.
Ms Rose has appeared for private clients, government departments, including for Victoria Legal Aid and the Department of Health and Human Services.
Before commencing as a barrister, her practice included property law, Hague Convention applications, guardianship and administration, inquests and child protection.
As a barrister, Ms Rose’s work has primarily focused in the Children’s Court, intervention order proceedings and summary crime.
She also has extensive experience in contested hearings, bail applications, pleas and mediation.
Since 2018, Ms Rose’s practice has been based in Gippsland.
She is also an adjunct lecturer in law at the College of Law in Melbourne and holds a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of laws from Deakin University.
“I congratulate Ms Rose on her appointment and wish her all the best in her service to the court,” Ms Hennessy said.
