Partner of the Year Awards launched for 2020

Lawyers Weekly, in conjunction with principal partner Taylor Root, is pleased to announce the launch of this year’s Partner of the Year Awards.

The fifth annual Partner of the Year Awards (POTY) is right around the corner, paying tribute to the outstanding work being done by partners, principals and practice leaders across the myriad fields of legal practice in the Australian marketplace.

POTY is the only national awards program that showcases the extraordinary achievements and efforts of lawyers at the apex of law firms and legal organisations in leadership, technical expertise, mentorship, business management and other key criteria.

The 2020 awards will feature 33 categories, spanning corporate, litigious, transactional and workplace practice areas. 

This year, Workplace Relations has two categories for prospective nominees and Oil and Gas Partner of the Year is a new category. Further, for the second year, the Wellness Advocate of the Year category will be running, and the New Partner of the Year – 3 Years or Less category is up for grabs.

Speaking ahead of the 2020 POTY Awards, Lawyers Weekly editor Emma Ryan said: “This awards program is regarded as one of the legal profession’s most prestigious events. The awards pinpoint professional development and innovation, showcasing the individuals who are leading the way in the industry.”

“Achieving Partner of the Year status offers the foundation for career progression, providing industry-wide recognition for professional competency while highlighting a passion for the law and dedication for personal advancement,” Ms Ryan added.

The 2020 awards will be held on Friday, 19 June at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney’s CBD. It will be hosted by Lawyers Weekly, together with principal partner Taylor Root.
