Firm: Thomson Geer (Adelaide Airport Limited)

Deal: Adelaide Airport Limited is expanding its main terminal to upgrade international arrivals and departures, and to create more retail and dining options for travellers.

Value: Confidential.

Area: Transport.

Key players: The firm’s construction and projects team advised on this matter, consisting of partner Tony Saint and special counsel Shannon Schwarz. They were assisted by the property and leasing team, consisting of partners Michael Liebich and Chris Kelly, associate Jessica Blank and lawyer Stephanie Cogno-Maglieri.

Deal significance: Construction on the expansion project started in October 2018 and the first big new section of retail is due to open on 26 February 2020. Thomson Geer has been involved in the process since the planning stages in mid-2018.

Adelaide Airport is ranked the fifth busiest airport in Australia, with more than eight million passengers annually and regarded as having “one of the most modern terminal designs” in the country. The expansion will improve the overall experience for travellers with new spaces and expanded security and retail options.
