Lawyer X to front royal commission today
Barrister-turned-police-informer Nicola Gobbo will appear before the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants today. Lawyers Weekly will be in attendance during her evidence—learn how to follow along with our updates as they happen.
Eleven months after the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants began, the barrister at the centre of the Victoria Police scandal will finally give her own side. It follows over 1,000 tendered documents, several postponements, major players statements and over 4,000 updates from the Lawyers Weekly liveblog.
It is important to note that we are unaware if the hearing will be open to the public yet. If it is, our liveblogging will continue as usual and we will be providing updates as soon as they happen. That’s every explosive allegation, quote, argument and anything that Ms Gobbo will tell the commission over Tuesday and the days following.
If the commission is in a closed hearing, it becomes a little tricker to provide continuous updates. While accredited media are permitted, the liveblog will have some pushback. However, we will keep updates filtered through there first so make sure to check in.
