David Catanese will assist with the growth of the firm’s offering to the government sector, having worked for several years as a government lawyer within the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office and the Australian Fair Pay Commission.

Within these roles, Mr Catanese has conducted litigation, provided legal advice on policy matters and implemented major legislative reform projects, including the reform of federal workplace relations legislation, Hall & Wilcox said.

Partner and employment sector leader Karl Rozenbergs said: “The addition of David to our already strong national employment team will really bolster our legal offering to the government sector. The depth of experience David brings in litigation and policy advice is a real asset to the firm.”

The firm said Mr Catanese has conducted various relations, occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and administrative law proceedings in the High Court, the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court, Supreme Court of Victoria, in state and federal administrative tribunals and the Fair Work Commission.

Mr Catanese said on the new role: “I’m really looking forward to working with impressive partners and lawyers in Hall & Wilcox’s employment team, and I’m excited about collaborating with the firm’s outstanding clients and strengthening its offerings.”
