Allens signs on MP for further 4-year term

Allens has confirmed it has reappointed Richard Spurio as managing partner for another four years, reflecting the firm’s confidence in his leadership and strategy.

Mr Spurios new four-year term will kick off from 1 January 2020.

“The decision to reappoint Richard reflects our confidence in his leadership and the clear strategy he has developed for Allens,” said Allens chairman Fiona Crosbie.

“Richard has gone about his role engaging with our clients and our people with great energy and skill.

“Richard has championed with enthusiasm the things that are important to us: our innovation agenda, our continued focus on a diverse and inclusive culture; our commitment to pro bono work and community programs – and of course keeping clients central to all that we do.”

Mr Spurio said he is honoured to have the opportunity to continue leading Allens. 

“As the firm moves toward its 200th anniversary in 2022, our ongoing focus is ensuring we have the strategy in place to set us up for the next 200 years,” he said.

“Our aim is to continue being the firm clients trust with their most strategic challenges and opportunities, as well as providing an environment for our people that is inclusive and diverse and allows them to be the very best that they can be.”

Emma Musgrave (née Ryan) is the managing editor, professional services at Momentum Media.

Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, including five years spent as the editor of the company's legal brand - Lawyers Weekly. Throughout her time at Momentum, she has been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia. In addition, she has produced exclusive multimedia and event content related to the company's respective brands and audiences. 

Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of NSW, before taking on a radio journalist role at Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland.

She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University.
