Deal significance: Pacific National’s proposed development of a major freight hub at St Marys, subject to local and state government planning approvals, aims to provide port shuttles to access stevedoring terminals at Port Botany, Clayton Utz said.
The firm’s assistance on the development has included associated arrangements with logistics group ACFS.
Pacific National aims to start construction of the St Marys freight hub this year.
Once constructed, Clayton Utz said the company expects to rail a total of 300,000 containers between Port Botany and St Marys each year, removing between 70,000 and 80,000 truck movements from Sydney roads.
