HSF has named Aaron Anderson as its newest partner. Mr Anderson takes to the firm’s Brisbane office in his new role, as part of the firm’s employment, industrial relations and safety (EIRS) team.

Throughout his career, Mr Anderson’s practice has spanned across workplace health and safety law, industrial relations and regulatory and compliance matters. He has advised clients across various industries including construction, resources, energy, retail, tourism, life sciences and transport, a statement from HSF said.

Herbert Smith Freehills has a market leading team providing workplace health and safety advice, and we are delighted to add Aaron’s expertise and experience,” said regional head of practice for the EIRS team Miles Bastick.

“Aaron brings a wealth of workplace health and safety expertise and knowledge, and is a tremendous complement to our national team. He’s known for practical, commercial and responsive advice to his clients. He will join Brisbane partners Michael Coonan and Kirsty Faichen in further strengthening that practice.”

Partner Steve Bell, who leads the firm’s Australian workplace health and safety practice, offered a similar sentiment, saying Mr Anderson’s appointment “demonstrated the firm’s ongoing commitment to providing clients with the best possible legal advice regarding workplace health and safety law”.

“Health and safety is a core value for many of our clients. They trust us to help them understand legal and regulatory issues, and to give strategic advice to meet their objectives. This can be complex and fascinating work, and requires lawyers at the top of their game,” Mr Bell said.

“Aaron’s experience speaks for itself, and he’s going to be a great addition to our growing national team. Adding Aaron’s legal and strategic insight really cements our team as the leading national safety practice in Australia.”
