Andrew Johnston joins the firm after a stint in the Middle East where he worked with Addleshaw Goddard LLP.

During this time, Mr Johnston’s practice focused on large club and syndicated corporate, project and real estate financing involving local and international banks.

Mr Johnston’s experience includes construction and development finance, project finance, real estate finance, corporate finance, restructuring and asset finance among other areas, as well as knowledge around the leveraging of acquisition finance.

He also has specialist expertise in Islamic finance, which Sparke Helmore is calling “a rare and valuable commodity in the Australian market”.

Sparke Helmore’s national managing partner Phillip Salem said “I am excited that Andrew has decided to join Sparke Helmore – or should I say re-join Sparke Helmore, as he was a Senior Associate with the firm from 2011 to 2016”.

“Having someone with Andrew’s sophisticated offshore expertise, combined with his experience working for leading investment banks, is another significant step in enhancing the outstanding solutions and service we offer our banking and finance clients.”
