Shine appoints new practice heads
Shine Lawyers has appointed three new heads of practice across its personal injury and litigation and loss recovery spheres.
Shine has confirmed Jacqui Eager has been elevated to the role of head of core personal injury, Lisa Flynn to head of specialist personal injury and Jan Saddler to head of litigation and loss recovery, which also incorporates the firm’s class actions business.
“I have spent my career focused on plaintiff litigation in the personal injury sector. This line of work has allowed me to provide access to justice for thousands of injured people across both Queensland and NSW,” Ms Eager said.
“I’m proud to be working in this space at Shine Lawyers and to witness how our solutions-focused approach helps alleviate the stress that injured parties often feel at these low-points in their lives.
“As the newly appointed head of core personal injury at Shine Lawyers, I am excited about leading our national team of passionate and experienced personal injury lawyers to continue securing high quality outcomes for everyday Australians.”
Ms Flynn joined Shine Lawyers as an articled clerk almost 20 years ago and has an in-depth understanding of our business gained from working across a variety of roles and practice areas, including as branch manager and general manager, according to a statement from the firm.
“Working in specialist personal injury means righting wrongs for victims of abuse, medical negligence and employment law among other categories,” Ms Flynn said.
“What I have experienced over the past three years as the National Head of Abuse Law was the gratitude that survivors of abuse feel for simply being ‘heard.’ This new role will allow me to reach and listen to a wider group of victims needing our validation and support. It will be a great source of pride to have broader reach to help more people in this new role.”
Meanwhile Ms Saddler brings almost 30 years’ experience as a solicitor across Australia and the UK to the firm. She joined Shine in 2011, initially heading the firm’s professional negligence practice, and moving into class actions in 2015.
“I’m thrilled to be leading Shine Lawyers litigation and loss recovery team,” Ms Saddler said.
“Working at Shine has given me the opportunity and the skilled and passionate teams needed to assist victims of loss and hardship caused by corporate wrongdoing. It truly is a privilege for me to work for our clients and to help them hold to account both Australian and multinational corporates.
“Without the support of Shine, it is unlikely most of our clients would be able to obtain the justice they deserve. My goal in my new role is to ensure that it helps me, help others in even greater numbers.”
