Adam Salter, a partner in the firm’s labour and employment practice, will serve as the new head of the Jones Day offices in Perth, effective 1 January 2019.

“Adam is highly respected in the Australian legal market,” said Jones Day partner-in-charge of Australia and Japan Chris Ahern.

“He is a great representative for Jones Day in the region and will be very effective in fostering the continued collaboration of our Perth lawyers with our peers in Jones Day offices around the world. I look forward to working closely with him in the months and years ahead.”

According to the firm, Mr Salter boasts “20 years of cross-border experience advising clients regarding labor and employment issues, including the drafting of Australian employment contracts and policies providing guidance on executive hiring and dismissal, industrial instruments, termination of employment, redundancy programs, and drafting and enforcing post-employment restraints”.

In addition to his labor and employment experience, the firm continued, Mr Salter has “more than a decade of experience advising clients on Australian and cross-border M&A, outsourcing, and cybersecurity issues”.

The announcement follows news that Jones Day had promoted two of its global disputes practice lawyers, Annie E. Leeks and Maria Yiasemides, to the firm’s partnership ranks in its Brisbane and Sydney offices respectively.
