Jones Day adds 2 to Aussie partnership

Global law firm Jones Day has promoted two of its global disputes practice lawyers to partners, effective 1 January.

Annie E. Leeks and Maria Yiasemides have joined the firm’s partnership. Ms Leeks is based in Jones Days Brisbane office, while Ms Yiasemides is based in the firm’s Sydney office.

Ms Leeks brings more than 10 years’ to the partnership, having acted for large corporations across several industries, including the healthcare, mining, energy, financial services, aviation, sports and construction sectors. 

Meanwhile, Ms Yiasemides regularly advises administrators, liquidators, receivers, banks, distressed corporations, and creditors in insolvency processes, involving global corporations and government entities in a number of industries and sectors including finance, retail, insurance, transport, media, energy, satellites, mining, and property development, a statement from Jones Day confirmed.

Emma Musgrave (née Ryan) is the managing editor, professional services at Momentum Media.

Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, including five years spent as the editor of the company's legal brand - Lawyers Weekly. Throughout her time at Momentum, she has been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia. In addition, she has produced exclusive multimedia and event content related to the company's respective brands and audiences. 

Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of NSW, before taking on a radio journalist role at Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland.

She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University.
