Waste collection manufacturer offloads majority share to German company

Cooper Grace Ward has acted for shareholders of Superior Pak Holdings Pty Ltd in the sale of majority shareholding to German manufacturer of refuse collection vehicles and equipment, Faun Expotec GmbH.

Deal: Cooper Grace Ward has acted for shareholders of Superior Pak Holdings Pty Ltd in the sale of majority shares to German manufacturer, Faun Expotec GmbH.

Key players: Cooper Grace Ward’s team was led by partner Charles Sweeney. Support was provided by senior associate James McKeon, lawyer Nick Ward and graduate Hannah Westaway.

Deal significance: Superior Pak first opened as a small business in 1997. It has become one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of waste collection equipment, according to a statement from Cooper Grace Ward.

Superior Pak has several thousand compaction bodies operating throughout Australia.

Charles Sweeney said the team is “extremely pleased” with the outcome of the transaction for the firm’s long-standing clients.

He said “it has been a pleasure working alongside the team at Superior Pak to assist in the finalisation of such a milestone event in the company’s history.”

Superior Pak’s managing director Rob Wrigley said the move “will provide further depth to the company’s business and product range.”

“New technologies for vehicle drive systems combined with the expertise of both partners in the production of class leading waste disposal and collection equipment will reinforce the strong future ahead for Australian manufacturing and the abilities of our workforce,” he noted.
