Victoria’s ‘largest’ solar project under construction
Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Total Eren on its 256MWp stage one development of Victoria’s Kiamal Solar Farm.

Deal significance: Construction has commenced on what will be Victoria’s largest solar project when completed, according to a statement from Herbert Smith Freehills.
Kiamal Stage 1 is located near Ouyen, about 100 kilometres south of Mildura.
Construction is being undertaken by Biosae Australia and Canadian Solar Australia as a joint venture.
According to a statement from Herbert Smith Freehills, the project “has a unique offtake structure comprising a number of first-in-market power renewable purchase arrangements, including long-term contracts with Alinta, Flow Power and Mars Australia.”
Lead partner Gerard Pike said “it is terrific that construction has now commenced on this landmark solar project for Victoria.”
He said Kiamal Stage 1 is “the outcome of several years of dedication and hard work by the Total Eren team.”
