Brian Scott joins the firm’s Singapore office, before transitioning to be based in Pinsent Masons’ Perth office from 2019.

Previously of Herbert Smith Freehills, Mr Scott has 15 years of experience across M&A and transactions in the Asia Pacific region.

He has spent seven of those years based in Indonesia, where he specialised in oil and gas.

Mr Scott will work across Australia and Asia alongside his Pinsent Masons colleagues and teams in key oil and gas hubs of Aberdeen, Dubai, London and Singapore.

Partner and head of transactional services at Pinsent Masons, Andrew Masraf, said Mr Scott’s appointment represents another step in the firm’s development of a leading transactional practice across Australia and south-east Asia, “where oil and gas is a particular focus for us due to the prevalence of strategically important oil and gas hubs such as Perth and Singapore – Perth is the principal commercial and technical base for one of the largest collections of gas basins in the world”.

“Brian’s wide-ranging experience across different jurisdictions will also boost the firm’s wider global proposition for clients in corporate transactional work," Mr Masraf said.
