Firm: Maddocks (Digital Transformation Agency)

Deal: Maddocks has advised the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) on the Commonwealth government’s whole-of-government agreement with IBM for hardware, software, cloud-based solutions and services.

Value: Estimated at $1 billion

Area: IT

Key players: The Maddocks Canberra team assisting the DTA was led by partner Caroline Atkins, with Belinda Chapman and Bridget Sullivan.

Deal significance: The five-year agreement harnesses the bulk-buying power of the entire government to secure best possible pricing on IBM products and services for all government agencies and departments, regardless of their size and spending.
