Firm: Thomson Geer (CWP Renewables)

Deal: CWP Renewables has achieved financial close for the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm Project near Mudgee, NSW.

Value: $250 million

Area: Energy and resources

Key players: The Thomson Geer legal team was led by partner Chris Kelly, with assistance from associates Alexandra Juniper, Jessica Blank and Antonia Li.

Deal significance: The 37 turbine, 135 megawatt Crudine Ridge Wind Farm is set near Mudgee, NSW.

“We have assisted CWP Renewables with the property aspects of this project since its infancy in 2010, and it is the third wind farm project for which we have assisted them to achieve close since 2014,” a statement from Thomson Geer said.

“The Crudine Ridge Wind Farm, valued at $250 million, secured the financial backing of two commercial banks and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

“The funding package should pave the way for construction to commence this year, with the owners targeting first power next year, with power generated from the wind farm to be directed towards the national grid by TransGrid.”
