Clyde & Co recruits 3, promotes 5

Clyde & Co has appointed three new senior hires, as well as made five promotions across its Australian offices.

The firm has announced that Paul Hopwood has come on board as special counsel in Clyde & Co's Perth office, after departing boutique law firm Cocks Macnish.

Mr Hopgood brings more than 15 years’ experience to the firm, predominately in the marine sector, holding expertise in admiralty, marine insurance and international trade law.

In addition, Clyde & Co has laterally recruited two senior associates — Claire Smith, who takes to the firm’s insurance practice in Brisbane, and Scott Jackson, who takes to the firm’s real estate, projects and construction practice in Perth.

Clyde & Co has also promoted five associates to senior associate across its Brisbane and Sydney offices.

The new senior associates are listed as Chloe Blackwell (real estate, projects and construction, Sydney), Leah Hewish (corporate, Sydney), Teodor Lomaca (real estate, projects and construction, Sydney), Stefanie Luhrs (insurance, Brisbane) and Alexis Norbury (insurance, Sydney).

Emma Musgrave (née Ryan) is the managing editor, professional services at Momentum Media.

Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, including five years spent as the editor of the company's legal brand - Lawyers Weekly. Throughout her time at Momentum, she has been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia. In addition, she has produced exclusive multimedia and event content related to the company's respective brands and audiences. 

Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of NSW, before taking on a radio journalist role at Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland.

She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University.
