Investa acquires multimillion-dollar Sydney office tower

DLA Piper has advised Investa Commercial Property Fund on its acquisition of a Sydney office tower within the city's CBD.

Deal: Investa Commercial Property Fund has acquired Sydney office tower, 117 Clarence Street.

Value: $153 million

Key players: The DLA Piper team was led by real estate partner Astrid Beemster, with assistance from lawyers Caroline Najjar, Lily Bleach, Jemma Cooper, James McDuie, Costa Valtas and Elvis Dangol.

Deal significance: The purchase of 117 Clarence Street brings Investa’s real estate portfolio to a total of 15 assets, with interests in some of Australia’s leading office buildings, including 420 George Street and Deutsche Bank Place in Sydney, and 120 Collins Street in Melbourne, according to a statement from DLA Piper.

“We are delighted to have advised our long-standing client Investa on this latest strategic acquisition,” said DLA Piper partner Astrid Beemster.
