Deal: International law firm Clifford Chance has advised Partners Group, a global private markets investment management firm, on the creation of a $700 million Grassroots Renewable Energy Platform (Grassroots).
Value: $700 million.
Area: Corporate, energy and resources.
Key players: Clifford Chance partner Andrew Crook led the transaction and a team comprising counsel Reuben Van Werkum and associates Jenny Han and Sara Tan.
Deal significance: Grassroots currently holds two wind farm projects and intends to construct more than 1.3GW of new wind and solar power and battery storage assets across Australia in the coming four years, Clifford Chance said.
Speaking about the deal, Mr Crook said: “The renewables market is a hive of activity here in Australia, with investors seeing clean energy as an imperative to drive sustainable economic growth.”
