Project finance crew member picked to lead Aussie team
A global law firm has announced the appointment of a new national head for its project finance and infrastructure team.

Norton Rose Fulbright has named senior partner Jo Crew as the firm’s new head of project finance and head of infrastructure in Australia.

Ms Crew has experience advising sponsors and financiers on all aspects of the development and financing of major infrastructure and energy projects and acquisitions.
“I am delighted to have been appointed to lead this dynamic, market leading project finance team, which we believe is uniquely placed to bring the benefits of international best practice experience to the Australian project finance market,” Ms Crew said.
A statement issued by NRF said that appointing Ms Crew to this new leadership role recognised her contributions to the firm and its clients.
NRF managing partner Wayne Spanner underscored that the firm’s global capability in project finance was further strengthened by its recent combination with US firm Chadbourne & Parke.
“The strength of our global practice was recognised when we were named ‘Law Firm of the Year for Project Finance 2017’ by Project Finance International,” Mr Spanner said.
NRF also announced that it had recruited Chris Patten, a project finance lawyer from Allens.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Patten said he was attracted by “the growth trajectory” of NRF’s banking and project finance practice in Australia.
“I am very excited about the benefits that the Norton Rose Fulbright platform will be able to deliver to my clients,” Mr Patten said.
Mr Spanner said the exciting new changes to NRF’s project finance and infrastructure practices reflected the firm’s intention to further invest in this area in Australia.
