Bakers assists oil and gas company on capital raise
Baker McKenzie advised Sundance Energy Australia Limited on its $331 million capital raise.
Firm: Baker McKenzie (Sundance Energy Australia Limited).
Value: $331 million.
Area: Capital markets.
Key players: The transaction team was co-led by partners Steven Glanz and Antony Rumboll, who were both assisted by partner Andrew Reilly and associates Paul Anderson, Ivo Basoski and Emily Hunter.
Deal significance: Since listing on the ASX in 2005, Sundance has been focused on the identification, appraisal, development and production of “large, repeatable resource plays in the US”, according to Bakers.
The funds were raised, predominantly, to acquire Eagle Ford Shale properties from a consortium managed by Pioneer Natural Resources USA, Inc.
“We were delighted to act for Sundance Energy Australia on an equity raising that will increase its capitalisation several times over,” Mr Glanz said.
