Sparke Helmore Lawyers has welcomed Jonathan Doy as its new principal, corporate and consulting services.

The new role will see Mr Doy provide tax advisory and strategic business consulting as part of Sparkes’ allied services, a statement from the firm explained.

Throughout his career, Mr Doy has worked with local and international companies across all major industries with a primary focus on indirect tax implications of transactions and Australian Taxation Office compliance interactions and disputes.

Prior to joining Sparkes, Mr Doy was a senior partner with accounting firm Crowe Horwath and before that with PwC.

“A key element of Sparke Helmore’s firm strategy is to expand our range of service offerings into areas that are closely aligned with our current core legal offerings,” national managing partner Phillip Salem said.

“Tax advisory and strategic business consulting are services that many of our clients require alongside their legal needs, so developing this capability is an obvious area of growth for the firm.

“This is a significant appointment in our allied services venture and I’m looking forward to working with Jonathan.”
