Baker McKenzie recently announced that John Lobban has been appointed an Of Counsel in its Brisbane restructuring and insolvency team.

His expertise includes distressed investing and debt trading, litigation and dispute resolution, and restructuring and insolvency.

Mr Lobban joins from Ashurst, where he was formerly Queensland managing partner. He is also a former chair of the Queensland Law Society Insolvency Committee.

“John is a welcome addition to our Brisbane office, which has seen a significant uptick in insolvency and restructuring work,” said national managing partner Anthony Foley.

“John is a very experienced lawyer who enjoys a great reputation, and enormous respect, in the legal and business community in Queensland.”

Mr Lobban said he was excited to join the firm.

“Baker McKenzie is the number one, global law firm brand and has a fast-growing office in Brisbane which I am excited to join,” he said.
