National firm strengthens Sydney and Adelaide offices
A national law firm has bolstered its offices in Sydney and Adelaide by making three key appointments.
Gilchrist Connell has announced it has hired two new senior associates for its Sydney practice and a new associate for its Adelaide practice.
Mr Wood’s new role sees him return to Gilchrist Connell following a three-year stint at Clyde & Co. Mr Shukla also joins Gilchrist Connell from Clyde & Co, where he was an associate for just over a year.
According to a statement from Gilchrist Connell, the pair have acted in large and complex matters, both domestically and for London Underwriters. The firm’s statement noted that they also have extensive experience in coverage advice and monitoring large disputes on behalf of insurers.
Meanwhile, new Adelaide associate Zoe Dempster is described as being a highly effective legal professional, having acted in numerous insurance claims and representing plaintiffs in a range of compensation claims.
Gilchrist Connell managing principal Richard Wood welcomed the three to the firm.
“As we continue to expand, these talented new recruits will help us maintain high levels of service delivery across key practice areas,” he said.
Last year, Gilchrist Connell took out the Insurance Team of the Year category at Lawyers Weekly’s Australian Law Awards.
The prestigious event aims to recognise trailblazers in the legal profession.
This year’s Australian Law Awards will be held at the Event Centre, The Star, Sydney on 1 September 2017.
