Women in leadership and understanding gendered roles is essential for competitive and effective business, but how do you create this environment?

As businesses recognise the positive financial and other benefits of adopting a diverse workforce, the push for women in leadership has become an “it” topic for discussion. Missing from the discussion is how women or disadvantaged persons can be included in traditionally male dominated workforces, like the legal profession, education sector energy and resources, banking and commerce industry, without alienating co-workers or business partners.

The Asia Pacific Professionals Association Ltd with the Papua New Guinea High Commission presents a three day, three city ANZ I PNG Gender Parity Symposium that showcases high profile and influential speakers from Papua New Guinea and Australia who can provide practical examples, barriers and ways to overcome challenges to create “Pathways to Parity”.

At the “Pathways to Parity” dinner, Lieutenant General David Morrison, AO (retd), an Officer of the Order of Australia and a delegate at the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict in London in 2014, will present his perspectives on gender parity in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

It is clear that Lt Gen Morrison AO (retd) knows what he is talking about when it comes to creating cultural change and achieving parity
