Firms: Allens Linklaters (M2 Group Ltd); New Zealand firm Lowndes Jordan (Call Plus Group).

Deal: M2 Group Ltd acquired 100 per cent of Call Plus Group and a related entity, 2Talk Limited, New Zealand's third-largest internet service provider.

Value: A$245 million

Area: M&A

Key players: Allens partners Mark Malinas and Warwick Newell.

Deal significance: M2 Group provides a full suite of traditional and next-generation telecommunications products and utility services to Australian households and small businesses.

“This was our first M&A transaction with M2 Group and it happened to be the company's most significant expansion into New Zealand,' Mr Malinas said.

“We were able to bring our cross-border experience in M&A and acquisition finance to bear within a tight time frame to help this significant deal get done.”
