National firm Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) has appointed Zac Kerr to partner in their energy + infrastructure team in their Melbourne office.

National firm Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) has appointed Zac Kerr to partner in their energy + infrastructure team in their Melbourne office.

Mr Kerr joins G+T from K&L Gates, where he was a global co-head of construction and infrastructure, advising on projects and infrastructure transactions globally — particularly in Australia and Asia.

He has advised on large and complex infrastructure procurement projects. He has knowledge of the transport, power, water and social infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP) sectors, including greenfield contracting, financing and secondary markets.

“Our clients are primarily the sponsors, financiers and contractors on PPPs, toll roads, power stations, renewable projects, transmission and distribution assets, transport infrastructure and telecommunications projects in ANZ and across the globe,” G+T said in a statement.

“Zac’s client base is synergistic with the G+T client base.”

Partner and head of the energy + infrastructure group Alexander Danne said that the energy + infrastructure team was very excited about the close alignment between Mr Kerr and G+T. “I’m delighted to welcome Zac to the team,” said Mr Danne.

“He is a highly respected member of the profession, and his appointment [complements] and deepens our offering, bringing further bench strength to our project, construction and project finance teams in the energy and infrastructure market.”

Partner and head of the banking + projects practice group John Schembri commented: “The recruitment of such a high calibre projects practitioner as Zac is a testament to the strategic decision we made to form a single banking + projects practice group, combining our projects, construction and project finance teams with our climate change, planning and real estate teams.”
