Rowan Kelly has joined Clyde & Co’s regulatory and investigations practice, leaving a rival global firm.

Mr Kelly (pictured) left his role as special counsel at Herbert Smith Freehills in May to join the Clyde & Co occupational health, safety and security team based in Melbourne. He was based in Western Australia for more than 20 years.

A workplace relations specialist, Mr Kelly has experience advising clients across a range of industries. His practice focuses on work health and safety (WHS), employment and industrial law.

His expertise covers a wide range of WHS matters, including the provision of tailored training, advising on legislative compliance, drafting of manuals and policies, responding to critical incident and regulatory investigations and WHS prosecutions.

In a statement released by Clyde & Co, Mr Kelly’s appointment was described as part of the ongoing growth of its national WHS team, which has gone "from one to nearly 15 in a little under five months".

Last month special counsel Fiona Austin also left her role at Herbert Smith Freehills to join Clyde & Co’s Brisbane office.
