Five partners and 25 legal staff will join Clyde & Co in 2016 when Australian firm Lee & Lyons closes its doors.
David Lee and Lucinda Lyons founded Lee & Lyons in 2002, but have now decided to cease trading and join Clyde & Co’s Sydney office in February 2016.
Mr Lee and Ms Lyons both have extensive experience across all major lines of insurance, including financial lines, professional indemnity, public and products liability, property and statutory classes.
Partners David Amentas, Michelle Dunne, Christopher Smith and a further 25 lawyers will also join Clyde & Co.
Mr Amentas has practised in insurance law for more than 17 years and has extensive experience across professional indemnity and liability insurance, developing a sensible, commercial and practical approach to claims.
Ms Dunne has experience in a broad range of insurance matters including public liability, medical malpractice, product liability and dust diseases litigation.
Mr Smith has acted for financial lines insurers for more than 16 years, principally in the areas of D&O and professional indemnity insurance.
Clyde & Co Australian managing partner John Edmond said: “These appointments will allow us to increase significantly our capability in general liability and further expand our professional liability claims work. Our clients have made it clear that this is what they want from us to serve their needs better and we are responding.”
