Former Minter Ellison lawyer Andrew Lam has been appointed as director of an accounting firm’s tax advisory and compliance practice.

Mr Lam (pictured) has joined Hill Rogers Spencer Steer to provide tax advice in connection with mergers and acquisitions transactions, leading tax due diligence assignments, structuring inbound and outbound investment, general tax planning, and providing tax compliance services.

Both a chartered tax adviser and a solicitor, Mr Lam joined from accounting firm Moore Stephens, and has also worked as a tax adviser at big four accounting firm Deloitte and as a senior tax lawyer at Minter Ellison.

Before all of that Mr Lam held a graduate position at Hill Rogers in 2001-2003.

“Having started my professional career as a graduate with the firm; it was the genuine client-care focus of Hill Rogers Spencer Steer that motivated my move back to the firm,” Mr Lam said.

Hill Rogers Spencer Steer managing director John Wilcox said: “We are thrilled that Andrew has returned to the firm.

“His skill nicely complements our already strong SMEs and high-net-worth individuals' tax practice and adds to it through his deep tax experience advising large private and public companies and not-for-profits.”
