A major global firm has lost an intellectual property lawyer who has been appointed as a special counsel at DibbsBarker’s Sydney office.
IP specialist Andrew Rankine (pictured) has left Ashurst to join DibbsBarker as a special counsel with a focus on the life sciences and healthcare sector.
DibbsBarker’s Intellectual Property, Technology & Competition team head Melissa McGrath has described Mr Rankine’s appointment as “a huge coup for our team, and for the firm as a whole”.
“Andrew is a triple threat – he is a technically excellent lawyer on both the litigation and advisory sides of the coin, and he has unrivalled industry insight with his background in the healthcare sector,” Ms McGrath said.
DibbsBarker recently picked up partners Mark Baker-Jones from DLA Piper and Brad Allen from Clayton Utz.
