Former DLA Piper partner Judith Miller has been appointed head of commercial practice at a boutique firm.

Ms Miller (pictured) joins intellectual property firm Wrays as a national practice manager after eight years at DLA Piper. She will be based in the Sydney office.

She has experience advising on intellectual property and commercial matters, with clients such as Meat and Livestock Australia, Australian Wool Innovation, iSentia and Zoetis.

Ms Miller was previously the head of DLA Piper’s Australian contracts, commercial and distribution practice.

“[Ms Miller] will add breadth and depth to the team and play an integral role in doubling, if not tripling, our Sydney and Melbourne offices,” said Frank Hurley, CEO of Wrays.

Ms Miller commented on her decision to take up a role at Wrays, saying: “Frank and the team have a clear vision for Wrays to move beyond the role of a traditional law firm and become a strategic partner to business.  This was attractive to me, as was their focus on innovation.”
