Kain Corporate + Commercial has raided an Adelaide rival to lead its disputes solutions team.
Kerry Colmer (pictured) joined Adelaide’s Kain C+C from Fenwick Elliott Grace (FEG), where she was previously a partner for eight years.
“Kain C + C’s collaborative… approach to problem solving is cutting edge and I am really excited to be working with this group of people,” said Colmer.
Colmer has also worked as a senior associate at Johnson Winter & Slattery and spent time at Kelly & Co (now HWL Ebsworth).
At Kain C + C she will work in dispute resolution for corporate and government clients in the areas of building; construction and engineering; insolvency; insurance; defamation; and resources and energy.
Colmer said her team will keep legal costs down by avoiding the ”traditional costly fight in court”.
Managing director John Kain said Colmer’s appointment is important because she fills a gap at the firm.
“We had a very well-rounded dispute resolution team dealing with matters across all areas but we didn’t have a market leading building and construction disputes person in the business,” he said.
Kain C + C does not work on a traditional partnership model; it takes a corporate approach to business decision-making.
