Two-office firm TurksLegal has nabbed a former partner at HWL Ebsworth and an in-house counsel from a national bank.

Doug Vorbach (pictured right) joins TurksLegal as a special counsel after a four-year stint as a partner at HWL from 2008 to 2012, followed by more than a year consulting to the firm.

Vorbach has 35 years’ experience in insurance law. He has dealt with employers liability law since the late 70s and said the sector is about to change substantially.

TurksLegal has also recruited financial services expert Kim Perry (pictured below) as a special counsel.

Perry was previously executive legal counsel at the Commonwealth Bank, where he has worked for the past 12 years.

He has more than 25 years’ experience advising banks and insurance entities on financial services licensing, regulation, disclosure, organisation restructures and financial services dispute resolution.
