K&L promotes five partners in Oz, 52 globally

Five lawyers from Sydney and Melbourne are among 52 newly-appointed partners at K&L Gates.

Five lawyers from Sydney and Melbourne are among 52 newly-appointed partners at K&L Gates.

The promotions will take effect on 1 March 2014, having received sign-off from the firm’s global partnership.

Three of the Australian appointments were in Melbourne, with the remaining two in Sydney.

Melbourne-based M&A lawyer Caroline Carnegie (pictured right) has been with K&L for 10 years and is also a director of Sporting Partners, which assists not-for-profit sports clubs. She has been promoted alongside workplace relations lawyer Nicole Fauvrelle and property lawyer Will Grinter in K&L’s Melbourne office.

In Sydney, real estate lawyer Nicolas Chen (pictured below) and dispute resolution specialist Mark Easton have also been promoted to partner.

The firm recently lost banking & finance partner Richard Winter, who joined the Sydney office of Allion Legal to head up the firm’s new finance practice.
