New judges appointed to Family Court and Federal Circuit Court
Attorney-General Christian Porter has announced that both the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia will have one new judicial officer.

Dr Timothy McEvoy QC has been appointed as a judge of the Family Court of Australia and Alice Carter has been appointed as a judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
Ms Carter commenced in the Melbourne registry of the Federal Circuit Court on 14 March 2019.
She was admitted as a practitioner in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1996 and worked as a solicitor with Hogg & Reid, before being called to the Bar in 2006.
“On behalf of the Australian government, I congratulate Dr McEvoy and Ms Carter on their appointments and thank them for their willingness to serve the people of Australia,” Mr Porter said.
