WA A-G appoints new regional magistrate
West Australian Attorney-General John Quigley last week announced the appointment of a new member of the bench in the Magistrates Court of Western Australia.

Brionie Ayling has been appointed to the court, after spending the majority of her career at Legal Aid WA.
After completing her degree in 2000, and being admitted to practice in 2003, Ms Ayling commenced with Legal Aid WA as an articled clerk and eventually rose to the position of director of the Criminal Law Division, as well as serving as solicitor in charge of the South Hedland office.
Other career highlights include being seconded, in 2004, to instruct the Parliamentary Draftsman of the Criminal Procedure Bill 2003, which became the Criminal Procedure Act 2004 (WA), and being awarded the Hodge Award in 2007 for her contribution as a junior lawyer to the practice of criminal law in Western Australia.
Speaking about the appointment, Attorney-General Quigley said: “I congratulate Ms Ayling on her appointment and wish her every success in her new role.”
