18 new silks for Vic Bar
The Victorian Bar has welcomed the appointments of 18 new senior counsel.

Joining the ranks is Michael Patrick Cahill, Rozeta Stoikovska, Timothy John Seccull, David Chaworth Hallowes, John Richard Kelly, Julie Condon, Penelope Anna Neskovcin, Amanda Claire Fox, Daniel Irving Star, Timothy James McEvoy, Paul Xavier Connor and Jonathan Lewis Evans.
Victorian Bar president Jennifer Batrouney QC welcomed the eighteen new silks to their new roles, saying each will be a valuable addition to the bar.
“We congratulate Victoria’s newest silks,” she said.
“[The] appointments demonstrate balance in the recognition of the exceptional skill and diversity of talent within the bar across practice areas and levels of seniority.
“The silks appointed have each been recognised as leaders of the bar, demonstrating professional excellence in their respective areas of practice.”
The 18 appointments were unveiled by Chief Justice Marilyn Warren AC, following an extensive consultation process with the profession and the judiciary.
Ms Batrouney noted that the Victorian Bar is grateful for, and continues to be strongly supportive of, the central involvement of the Chief Justice in the appointment process.
“The Victorian Bar greatly appreciates the continuing involvement and commitment of the Chief Justice and her court in the appointment of new silks each year,” she said.
“This involvement strengthens the confidence that the public and the profession can have in the appointment process.
“We welcome the newest silks and are confident each silk appointed will continue to make a vital contribution to the Victorian justice system as specialist advocates and leading providers of strategic legal advice.”
