Courts Consultation Committee established
Attorney-General Gabrielle Upton has announced the establishment of the Courts Consultation Committee to provide her with high-level advice on the NSW judicial system.

Ms Upton (pictured) said the Committee will meet regularly and will be chaired by the Chief Justice of NSW Tom Bathurst AC.
“The Committee is long overdue and will harness the vast experience of members to deliver the best possible judicial system.”
Chief Justice Bathurst said he and the other Heads of Jurisdiction warmly welcomed the establishment of the Committee.
“Its breadth of experience will provide considerable insight and assistance in the administration of justice in this State,” he said.
Other members of the Committee will include the Chief Judge of the District Court, Chief Judge of the Land and Environment Court, president of the NCAT, Chief Magistrate of the Local Court, representatives of the legal profession, the Department of Justice and community representatives.
