Gadens appoints QC
Victorian silk Glenn McGowan QC has joined Gadens as chief counsel.
Mr McGowan (pictured) has accepted the role at Gadens after 27 years at the Victorian Bar, where he practised in commercial law focusing on intellectual property and information technology.
He is also an accredited mediator.
Commenting on his decision to join a private practice firm, Mr McGowan said, “With far fewer cases making their way to the courts due to alternate methods of resolution being sought, the practice of offering high-level advocacy services within legal firms remains largely untapped.
“My move broadens and enhances the available services to clients during a dispute.”
Mr McGowan is a long-standing member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia & New Zealand (IPSANZ) and has served on its executive committee. He also serves as chair of the International Commission of Jurists Victoria.
