Dixon (pictured) stepped in as interim CEO at the beginning of 2014. She has now secured the position permanently following a partner vote.

Maddocks chairman Mark Hayes said Dixon had been “wholeheartedly embraced” by the firm.

Lawyers Weekly exclusively revealed late last year that Pinsent Masons had poached Maddocks CEO David Rennick in launching its Australian practice.

More recently, Lawyers Weekly broke the news that the firm had lost around a dozen partners and lawyers from its tax controversy team to Minter Ellison. Another tax controversy partner, Angela Wood, quit Maddocks to join KPMG along with two senior lawyers.

Other partner departures in 2014 include Stan Kondilios, the former chair and Sydney head of the firm, and Peter Shaw, former head of the firm’s corporate group.
