Keith Redenbach (pictured) was appointed as a partner at Atanaskovic Hartnell in Sydney last week (17 July). The firm also has an office in London, which was launched in 2011.

Redenbach had been a partner at NRF for more than six years and previously headed up the global firm’s government practice in Sydney.

His expertise lies in procurement, alliance or public-private partnerships, and large-scale disputes.

Atanaskovic Hartnell said Redenbach’s appointment was in anticipation of increased activity in the aforementioned areas of government, pointing to an ANZ estimate that $100 billion to $125 billion worth of electricity, port and water assets will be sold by the Australian states over the next five years.

The firm also highlighted Australian Treasurer Joe Hockey’s potential sale of Commonwealth-owned assets.

“Both state and federal governments are committing to a more intensive infrastructure focus in the coming years and we see Keith leading our team into these challenging project areas,” said the firm’s founding partner Tony Hartnell.

Hartnell added that NSW Premier Mike Baird’s “agenda of asset recycling” will create work for firms that provide specialist infrastructure advice.

NRF recently lost another construction partner in Perth. Simon Bellas joined Jones Day’s global disputes practice last month (15 July).

The global firm has also picked up a few partners recently. On 1 July, NRF announced it had poached a Clayton Utz construction partner in Perth and an employment law specialist in Melbourne.

NRF also nabbed Sydney-based insurance partner Ray Giblett from Gadens in April.
