Hall & Wilcox nabs partners and team
Hall & Wilcox has acquired two partners from Sydney firm McCabes in a raid which also netted junior lawyers and support staff.
Hall & Wilcox announced it has hired Matthew Curll and Rachael Arnold (pictured), and an additional number of lawyers and support staff from McCabes insurance practice.
Hall & Wilcox managing partner Tony Macvean said the new Sydney hires and the firm’s existing insurance team in Melbourne will create a national insurance practice.
“Client demand for a high quality insurance practice servicing clients nationally is strong and we are delighted to have attracted such an experienced team,” said Macvean.
Hall & Wilcox’s insurance group will number four partners, seven senior associates, 10 lawyers and 12 paralegals, along with support staff.
Hall & Wilcox has sought to grow its Sydney capabilities since the Melbourne-based firm opened its second office in Sydney in January.
Lawyers Weekly reported earlier this month that the firm had appointed Danny Herceg, a former partner at Gilbert + Tobin, to head its Sydney corporate and commercial group.
