D’Agostino (pictured) will start the new role on 1 May 2014, replacing Sonya Leydecker who will step into the position of co-CEO.

HSF announced in December that Leydecker and former legacy Freehills managing partner Mark Rigotti had been selected as joint-CEOs of the global firm.

D’Agostino has spent his entire legal career at HSF. He was appointed as Greater China managing partner in May 2013 and will step down from that role when he becomes the Global Head of Dispute Resolution.

D’Agostino will continue to be based in Hong Kong, where he has helped to build HSF’s international arbitration practice in Asia. He has also previously worked in London, Singapore and Bangkok.

Earlier this month (18 March), HSF announced that it is looking to almost double its percentage of female partners over the next five years.
